Clinchamps sur
Orne (Calvados) Frieze First or second third of the 11th century |
This frieze originates from the church of Saint-Martin (Clinchamps-sur-Orne, Calvados). It was carved in limestone during the first or second third of the 12th century.
Two foliage patterns ornamented with beads define a circular space, in an interweaving motif, which is occupied by the figure of a completely naked man who appears to have been transfixed by a lance, worked in a slight relief. Dimensions of the objectDimensions of the object
