Caen (Calvados), Abbey church of the Holy Trinity (Abbaye-aux-Dames) Capital Between 1070 and 1130

This half column capital originates from the Trinité church, in the Abbaye-aux-Dames, in Caen (Calvados). It was carved in limestone during the last third of the 11^th century or first third of the 12^th century.
On a moulded astragal rests a collaret of separated leaves, in slight relief. This is surmounted by two flat leaves culminating in corner volutes, whose groins are filled with a triangular console.
