Church of Saint-Vigor

The church of Saint-Vigor in Englesqueville-la-Percée dates overall from the end of the 12th century and beginning of the 13th century. The tower located between the choir and the nave, is Romanesque. The final level is pierced on its four sides by two round windows (oculi), as is the case with the church of Colleville-sur-Mer. An octagonal spire covers the tower which is on a square plan. The change in geometry is achieved via a pinnacle with squat shapes at each of its four corners. The silhouette of the very massive tower contrasts with pointedness of the combined tower and porch at Colleville-sur-Mer.
