Church of Saint-Pierre

The church of Saint-Pierre in Amblie has been frequently re-worked. The nave, which was cut off at the south aisle, may date from the 12th century with the exception of the façade which was re-worked in the 13th century. The most remarkable elements of this nave are the five arcades opening onto the north aisle, whose arches sweep down onto single-cylinder columns, via capitals with varied decorations of almond motif mouldings, interlacing patterns, human masks or fantastical animals.
