The church of Saint-Aubin in Vaux-sur-Aure is an example of a near-total reconstruction of a building in the 19th century in the neo-Romanesque style. A transept was even added between the choir and the nave and the entire sculpted decoration was copied from monuments still standing or works of architecture. The building only retains a tower joined to the south wall of the choir of an indeterminate period, and the flat chevet, with two windows whose arches are sculpted with crenelated fretted patterns.
