The building has a chapel and a portico that used to join it to the old Cathedral before that was rebuilt by the Arcibishop Walter Offamilio. The chapel, with only one nave and one apse, was, together with the portico (transformed in gallery), during the subsequent centuries the place from which the Kings presented themselves to the people after the coronation or to receive ovations. The picture shows the gallery in the arrangement at the end of the 1500 and the windows of the adjacent chapel.
