William III of Hauteville

On his death in 1194, Tancred of Lecce (the illegitimate son of one of Constance’s brothers, Roger), who had been elected king of Sicily by the anti-Swabian faction, left an infant son, William III. When Emperor Henry VI returned to Italy and conquered the kingdom of Sicily, William was sent to Germany as a prisoner.
