Richard III, Duke of Normandy († 1027)

As the son of Duke Richard II and named as heir by his dying father, Richard III immediately had to confront his brother Robert who only received the County of Hiémois. He laid siege to Falaise and then made peace with Robert. Richard died shortly afterwards in Rouen, perhaps due to poisoning of which his brother Robert was suspected by some chroniclers.
