Bohemond of Hauteville, prince of Antioch
The son of Robert Guiscard, Bohemond helped his father in the campaign against the Byzantines and, on his death, inherited the principality of Taranto. In 1098 he left for the First Crusade, during which he founded the principality of Antioch, proclaiming himself its prince. In 1101 he was taken prisoner by the Turk Gumistigin and was ransomed two years later. He died in 1111.
