Modillion

First third of the 12th century

Zoomorphic modillion in limestone. An animal originally presented with its mouth open only survives with the mandible with some powerful teeth, the pupils of the eyes are drilled with a trepan, and the eyebrows represented by incisions. The upper jaw has disappeared.
