Church of St Samson

Second third of the 12th century 

This corner column capital originates from the church of Saint-Samson (Ouistreham, Calvados). It was carved in limestone during the second third of the 12th century.
The corbel is decorated with a head with prominent eyes, devouring a leaf. A decoration in small palms covers the surface of the corbel.
