Church of  St Pierre

Antefix cross

First third of the 12th century

Antefix cross in limestone which crowned one of the gables of the 12th century church. A cross with feet, whose extremities are decorated with foliage patterns, is encompassed by a circle decorated with posts. On the upper part of the circle, two disks are carved in reserve in a panel. The same arrangement of disks can be seen in the road crosses or cemetery crosses of Feuguerolles-sur-Orne (Calvados), Rocquancourt (Calvados) and Thaon (Calvados) all three of which seem to date from the 12th century.
