This small column base originates from the church of Saint-Etienne, in the Abbaye-aux-Hommes, in Caen (Calvados). It was carved in limestone during the 12th century.
A flat surface surmounted by a quarter roundel carries a beading. Above this a row of hollow staffs is carved obliquely.Dimensions of the object
