This manuscript is illustrated by three paintings, the first two of which (folio 4 and folio 32) are in the hand of the artist known by the name of Hugo pictor, according to the self portrait signed by him in an Oxford manuscript. These compositions, illustrating the Assumption and Christ in majesty, which are executed with an incisive and precise design, are enriched by a remarkable harmony of colours. The wine red used in the two paintings is very characteristic of the artist. The painting in folio 51 is by another hand, in a very similar style.
