Caen (Calvados), Abbey church of the Holy Trinity (Abbaye-aux-Dames) Capital End of the 11th century or early 12th century

The sober decoration of this capital carved in limestone consists of a narrow console between two scrolls and a six-pointed star carved in reserve in a circular basin.
The star motif is not in itself original as it is found in abundance in the archivolts of Romanesque portals, but its use on capitals is less common.
