Frieze

First third of the 12th century

This fragment of a frieze in limestone is decorated on two faces with a draughtboard motif, the shapes and dimensions of which are reminiscent of the restored frieze that can be seen at the base of the blind arcatures of the two crossings of the transept in the Trinité church in the Abbaye-aux-Dames.
