Saint-Samson sur Risle (Eure) The monastery of Pental Archivolt 7th century

This fragment of an archivolt in limestone is decorated with a vine branch whose twining path traces a foliage pattern; the decoration in the centre of each of the coils features a fruit somewhat like an acorn and a bird pecking at a grape.
