Caen (Calvados) Church of St Pierre Facing stone 8th - 9th century

Facing block in limestone, decorated with motif located in a frame measuring 5.5 x 7 cm. It is made up of an interlacing pattern in four-lobed shape crated from two fine strands. This was probably a repeated motif, the starting point of a similar element which is visible on the edge of the stone.
