Brindisi, church of Sant'Andrea all'Isola

"Dancers" capital

Second half of the 11th century

    Monumental capital in marble decorated with a dance scene - twelve men and women beneath some arcades, holding hands with their arms raised and lowered in alternation. The style is that of the 11th c. Romanesque carvings of Apulia.
