Brindisi, church of Sant'Andrea all'Isola

11th century

Unusually large marble capital, decorated in the lower section with a succession of acanthus surmounted by four fabulous beasts with thick coats, two of them addorsed and two face to face. Bunches of grapes can be seen between the paws of the two animals facing each other. Over each of them is a human mask.
