Cup

11th-12th centuries

Polychrome glazed ceramic cup. The central ornament is a stylized bird with reticulated plumage holding a leafy twig in its beak. This originally oriental theme, together with the plant or geometrical motifs, the fine outline and predominant greens and browns are the hallmark of the most widespread Siculo-Norman production.
