York, 16-22 Coppergate
Copper alloy buckle-plate
Late 11th-12th/13th century

Made of a rectangular sheet which is folded in half with two loops at the head, one broken. There are three rivet holes along the lower edges of both plates, the front plate has a square field containing cross-hatching.
