Padlock Keys
The key bits are at an angle of about 90° to the stem. These keys were suspended from the owner's belt by means of a cord through the terminal at the head.

1. 11th- 12th century
The upper part of the stem widens towards the head where there is a looped terminal.

3. 12th - 13th century
The upper part of the stem has a triangular shape which is at its narrowest at the head where there is a rounded, pierced terminal.

4. Early 12th century
The upper part of the stem is thickened before tapering to the head where there is a rounded, pierced terminal. Small notches are cut into the rear edge of the stem.

5. Early 12th century
The upper part of the stem is triangular and at the head there is a looped terminal.
Dimensions: L.124mm
