Gatteville-le-Phare (canton of Saint-Pierre-Eglise, Manche) Church

    The Romanesque tower (12^th century) is the only vestige of the original church of Gatteville next to which the current church was reconstructed in the 18^th century. Transformations of the same period have affected the name of the mariners' chapel, Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours, which was however to retain its 11^th century apse. The site was built over the location of an ancient Merovingian cemetery.
