Périers-sur-le-Dan (canton of Ouistreham, Calvados) Church of Saint-Ouen

    The church of Saint-Ouen in Périers-sur-le-Dan retains a ruined Romanesque nave and a gothic choir dating form the 13^th century. The whole building was restored in 1980 and enables a re-acquaintance with the so-called herringbone masonry (opus spicatum) on the walls of the nave, which was abandoned for the construction of the choir. This retains a rare collection of mural paintings from the 13^th and 14^th centuries.
