The church of Parfouru-l’Éclin is a simply laid-out building : a Romanesque nave, significantly re-worked in the 19th century, with a 15th or 16th century porch at the west, a 13th century choir and a tower built into the north wall between the nave and the choir. The square plan Romanesque tower has four stages : a tall base with no openings has herringbone masonry in its walls; each of the three upper stages is set back from the one below and at the top is a pitched roof. It is characteristic of Norman towers of the period with a multiplicity of openings and decoration on each stage.
