The British Isles have inherited a rich architectural legacy from the Norman period. By way of an introduction The Normans : A European People features more than 60 buildings, including some which are well-known and others which are not. Particular emphasis has been given to the region around the City of York in the north of England and the County of Hampshire in the south.
